Non-profit institutions are ineligible to directly utilize federal tax credits because they are exempt from paying federal income tax. Through U.S. Solar Energy Enterprises Inc.’s efforts, however, they are able to enter into financing arrangements with a third party institution that will allow the financing entity to take advantage of tax credits and rebates yet pass on the vast bulk of the savings to the non-profit. Under this arrangement, fully supported by the United States Department of Energy, the non-profit will initially lease the system for a number of years – to be determined by the agreement between the parties. The third-party financing institution will receive the federal tax benefits and utility rebates as the owner of the system during the lease period. The non-profit, however, will receive full ownership of the system after the lease period ends.

 

Unlike the U.S. Solar Energy Enterprises Inc.., other electrical solar companies typically do not transfer full ownership of the solar electrical system to the property owner but instead enter into a decades-long leasing arrangement to provide solar energy at a reduced price. Under our competitors’ model, the customer permanently leases the solar electrical system and may enjoy 10-30% savings from their current utility costs. U.S. Solar Energy Enterprises Inc.'s approach is infinitely more profitable to our clients because once the initial lease period is over, the non-profit will reap 100% of the savings derived from the system.
