1. What are the environmental benefits of an electrical solar system?
An electrical solar system produces clean power and no pollution; it produces no greenhouse gas and is an unlimited resource.
2. How does an electrical solar system work?
Photovoltaic solar produces electricity by using solar cells to convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. Photons in the sunlight hit the solar panels and are absorbed by semiconducting materials such as silicon. Electrons are then freed from the semiconducting material creating electricity. Because of the configuration of the solar cells the electricity flows in a specific direction. An inverter installed with the PV solar system converts the direct current to alternating current (ac) that can be used for household applications.
3. How is the electrical solar system connected to the grid system?
This system is designed to operate in conjunction with your utility company and uses an inverter to distribute the electricity. If the system produces more electricity than it needs, the excess electricity is fed back to the power grid, essentially making your electrical meter spinning backward.
4. What are some of the economic benefits of installing an electrical solar system?
Generating electricity using a photovoltaic solar system is a smart investment for commercial and industrial buildings:It substantially reduces energy costs;
a. It avoids the energy rates hikes that utility companies may impose in the future for the energy output the new system will produce;
b. It increase the market value to the property;
c. Purchasers qualify for special tax benefits such as the 30% Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and the value of the depreciation of the system is also tax deductible for commercial properties.
d. Utility companies routinely extend cash rebates to those customers that install electrical solar systems.
